Integrated Future

Integrated Future: A User Interface Design for Tomorrow's Transportation System is my thesis project that focused on a user interface simulation designed to improve the lack of integration that exists in today's transportation ticketing system. The idea came from my experience of buying train tickets. Sometimes the process is just confusing. As a graphic designer, this is where I can contribute my skills by incorporating technology and human experience into design.

What can I do to create a seamless transportation network? My solution is a global ticketing system that is simple, secure and worldwide.

This system utilizes a universal user interface that works in different places and in different languages with an expandable ability. It can also be adopted to personal devices as a ticket purchasing program. With a personal account, a traveler can travel around the world with just one ticket and a familiar user interface.

Ambient Music Packaging

Graphic design for my favorite type of music. I made up a music label "Inner Sound Records" and created a series of CDs. Catching the right mood and atmosphere for the music was the most interesting part in this project. (This is a personal project. Some of the artists and song names are real.)

Open Studio

Book design. My friend Shinae Kim and I interviewed five artists about their life in New York City. The book cover is handmade with a real metal number screwed into the hardcover. All the photos were taken and photoshoped by myself. The five artists are, Leon Fallon(kids entertainer), Stephen Kaplin(puppet designer), Yuriy Vaskevich(music creator), Spica Wobbe(actress), and Bob Gill(graphic designer).

Bike to Protect Our Planet

Deray, a man from Taiwan who traveled from Beijing to Paris by his bicycle in 2007, tried to arise our awareness of global warming. Although he is not the first one doing this, his action did invite more and more people to join biking. I designed this logo as a support to his trip and I feel honored to be part of it.
